Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Concert Residency by Nine Months Amid ‘Health Challenges’

Country music icon Dolly Parton has announced that her six-night “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas” concert run, originally slated for December 2025 at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace, will be deferred until September 2026. The postponement is attributed to ongoing health challenges that require medical procedures and a recovery period.

In a statement shared via Instagram on Sunday, Parton, now 79, explained that her doctors have advised she undergo “a few procedures” that would hinder her ability to prepare the show she aims to deliver. “I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” she wrote, adding that she values performing at her best for fans paying to see her.

Parton took a moment of levity in her message, joking that it “must be time for my 100,000-mile checkup,” while clarifying this was not a conventional cosmetic surgery trip. She also reassured fans that the delay should not be taken as a signal of impending retirement. “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she wrote. “I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

The move marks Parton’s first commitment to an extended Las Vegas engagement in over three decades, making the postponement especially notable. Her originally scheduled dates ranged from December 4 to 13, 2025. Under the revised schedule, the performances are now expected to take place between September 17 and 26, 2026.

Ticket holders will be offered options: retain their tickets for the new dates or request refunds. Caesars Palace, the venue for the residency, is coordinating with Parton’s team to manage the logistics, although additional details on rescheduling have yet to be fully disclosed.

The announcement follows recent health-related absences from Parton, including skipping an engagement at her Dollywood theme park. She later revealed she had been contending with a kidney stone and an associated infection, which prompted medical intervention and rest. The singer has not disclosed the nature of the procedures she must undergo, stating only that they will affect her ability to rehearse and travel in the near term.

Despite concerns from fans, Parton affirmed that she will continue working on other projects from her base in Nashville while she recuperates. Her recent activities include recordings, media appearances, and the ongoing development of a musical based on her life, which has been eyed for a Broadway production.

In closing, Parton thanked her fans for their understanding and reiterated her commitment to return stronger: “I love you and thank you for understanding.”
